Anselm Kiefer’s practice deals with the heavy burden of history, collective memory, and mythology. Working with raw, visceral materials such as lead, ash, straw, and clay, his monumental paintings and installations confront the dark scars of the 20th century, drawing profound connections between ancient myths, alchemy, and the modern human condition.
